*Useful hint: An old boat-builder’s trick to mount rubber rubrails of similar material is to immerse the rubber in a vat, kettle, or drum of nearly boiling water for 15 to 30 minutes. This makes the rubber soft and pliable enough to stretch around the hull. As the rubber then cools it contracts and becomes perfectly form fitting.
